Experts from Smithsonian Institute head to Baton Rouge to help save valued possessions

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - So many have lost so much due to historic flooding. Thankfully, some experts are headed to Baton Rouge to help people save some of those precious items that cannot be replaced.

Experts from the Smithsonian Institute will be at the Celtic Media Center on Saturday, Sept. 24 from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. They will provide demonstrations on how to salvage "valued possessions" that got wet.

Mold will set in within 48-hour of something getting wet. However, your pictures, books, albums and other such precious items can be saved.
