LSU moves up in the polls after victory over Bulldogs

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

LSU beat Mississippi State 23-20 Saturday night, winning the team's SEC opener and earning their second straight victory.  

The Tigers moved up in each of the major polls, as well as ESPN's SEC power rankings.

LSU made its biggest move in the Amway Coaches Poll, jumping five spots to No. 17.
Alabama is No. 1, followed by Ohio State, Clemson, Louisville and Michigan.

The Tigers moved up two spots to No. 18 in the AP Top 25.

The Tigers are now No. 8 in week three's ESPN SEC Power Rankings. LSU traded places with their next opponent, Auburn, who is ranked No. 9 this week.

The Tigers are 1-0 in SEC play heading into their visit to Auburn, but it's still difficult to say whether this team will be any good.

Alabama is No.1, followed by Texas A&M and Arkansas.
