BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - The East Baton Rouge Parish Seniors and Lawmen Together (SALT) Council will host a Senior Crime Prevention Fair on Tuesday, September 20.
The event will be held at the Cortana Mall (Entrance 1) from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and is open to all East Baton Rouge Parish seniors. The event is free.
The fair will provide important information to seniors regarding services, programs, and functions offered by area businesses, non-profits, hospitals, nursing facilities, clinics, universities, and government agencies. The goal of the event is to give seniors a comprehensive understanding of issues related to crime and to give them the tools to "minimize risk," making the community a safer place for all.
There will also be complimentary lunch, giveaways, entertainment, and health screenings available for glucose, blood pressure, cholesterol, eye exams, and more.
SALT is a cooperative effort between the East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office, local police departments, first responders, local businesses and non-profits, healthcare providers, and the senior citizens of East Baton Rouge Parish.
