Crime Stoppers: Pair wanted for allegedly cashing fake checks

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

Authorities are asking for help in locating two wanted fugitives accused of costing their victims about $12,000.

Greater Baton Rouge Crime Stoppers reported Gerald Melton, 29, and Terrance Tardieff, 31, are both sought by the Baton Rouge Police Department.

According to investigators, the pair forged several business checks and cashed them at Baton Rouge banks in August.

Police said both men used their personal information to cash the checks and signed their names on the back.

Melton is 6'0" and weighs about 130 pounds. Tardieff is 5'9" and weighs about 160 pounds. Both men have black hair and brown eyes.

Both suspects are wanted on charges of felony theft, monetary instrument abuse and forgery.
