BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Baton Rouge area Girl Scouts started their day by picking out new gear, courtesy of donations that poured in from more than 20 different states.
Some of the girls say they were looking for new books, vests, and badges. The girls lost most of their gear in the floods.
"I'm really appreciative because I lost a lot of things from the flood and it was really emotional, so I was like, thankful. But I'm kind of sad, but I know that we're going to replace everything and soon it will be all just like it was," said Haven Franklin, a Girl Scout.
More than $2,000 has been raised so far to replace uniforms and supplies for the girls. If you would like to help, you can purchase a gift card here. The gift cards will be distributed to girls and troops in need.
