NAPOLEONVILLE, LA (WAFB) - A sheriff in south Louisiana said one of his deputies was arrested Friday in connection with a domestic incident that happened in a different parish.
Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon said Deputy Quencis Oliver, 45, of Labadieville, resigned from the department and was later arrested. He added the incident happened Wednesday night in Lafourche Parish.
"The employees at Assumption Parish Sheriff's Office are expected to maintain the highest ethical and moral standards and must abide by the laws as any regular citizen," Falcon said in a written release. "That's the oath we take and we must live within its bounds."
According to Falcon, Oliver turned herself in to Lafourche Parish authorities late Friday.
He said she was booked on a charge of felony criminal damage to property and released on bond.
