BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Two of LSU's biggest football names are helping make sure kids affected by flooding get back to school on the right foot.
Patrick Peterson and Tyrann Mathieu, who currently play for the Arizona Cardinals, donated school supplies and clothes to the kids at the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Baton Rouge.
The Boys and Girls Club said the donations mean a lot more to the kids than just getting stuff for school.
"Just knowing that these famous celebrities that they've never met care enough about them to send these supplies and thought about them in the midst of everything that's happened in this month just means a lot to the kids," said director of development Melody Watson.
"Cause some people really are in need of this stuff and no telling what they lost, so yeah I'm pretty grateful for it," said fourth grader Cameron Bell.
In all, 700 children will get backpacks full of donations from the two NFL standouts.
