BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - President Barack Obama sent a letter to Gov. John Bel Edwards on Thursday and stated he is amending his Aug. 14, 2016 declaration of federal funds for assistance for flood victims.
The president said he is authorizing federal funds for all categories of public assistance at 90 percent of total eligible costs.
Obama said the federal government has spent more than $660 million to help the state in the aftermath of the floods.
He added William Fugate, the administrator of FEMA, will provide a more detailed response to each of the requests Edwards made in a letter sent to the president on September 3.
