BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

New Orleans Saints punter Thomas Morstead visited Eden Park Elementary with a bus load of gifts Tuesday.

First lady Donna Edwards also helped unload the free backpacks filled with school supplies for students.

Park Forest Elementary kids are in classes with Eden Park students while flood damage in their school is repaired.

Morstead’s What You Give Will Grow Foundation invited Chevron and Southwest Airlines to sponsor the surprise for what will be 6,000 students in East Baton Rouge Parish as part of Team Comeback Kids.

"I'm sure a lot of these kids families, the last thing they're thinking about is school supplies for their kid when their house is flooded," Morstead said. "They've gotta get new furniture, or the different major things that go along with the flooding. So it was just kind of away to make sure that these kids, in the midst of it all, feel supported."

Morstead and the backpack crew visited every classroom at Eden Park as every kid received one, not just the flood victims.
