CENTRAL, LA (WAFB) - Students on the campus of Central Intermediate and Middle schools will have 750 new classmates on Tuesday.
Students from Tanglewood Elementary are being transferred to CIS because their school was damaged by flooding.
"The students are really excited. They're ready to come back," said Julie Stevens, principal at Tanglewood Elementary. "They're ready for routine, and we have a lot of volunteers coming tomorrow to help us with the transition, with the students. Just making sure they're comfortable and they're exactly where they need to be."
The school gymnasium has been turned into a series of large cubicles that will be used as classrooms.
The principal of Tanglewood said her school is at least eight weeks away from being usable again.
