The drama continues to build in Green Bay, as LSU fans will get their first look at their 5th-ranked Tigers against Wisconsin in the opener Saturday.
Will Tre' White take the Lambeau Leap? What will Dave Aranda's first defense look like? The Tigers are missing Will Clapp, who is wearing a walking boot as he boarded the bus. And, there are several other intriguing angles surrounding the game.
LSU kicker Colby Delahoussaye was in southern Wisconsin back in late July when he was in a car accident that claimed the life of a punter from Michigan State and a punter from Nebraska. Delahoussaye survived the crash, but he enters his final year at LSU with a changed perspective on life now that he’s stepping in for Trent Domingue, who departed for the Texas Longhorns.
"Nothing is guaranteed and obviously, that accident showed me that nothing can be taken for granted," Delahoussaye said. "And, there is no reason to have negative thoughts on life when you never know when your last day is."
LSU fans also seems to be looking forward to seeing running back Derius Guice as a sophomore. Guice said as the guy sitting behind Leonard Fournette, he has to make the most of his carries.
"It has to be if I want to play," Guice said. "Whenever any of us can be called - it can be me, Darryl, Nick, Lanard - every one of us has to contribute any way possible, whether it’s blocking, play action, it could be running. We all have to do what we have to do when we get in or we going to come right back out, so that’s just that."
Kickoff is officially at 2:36 p.m. Central. It will be broadcast on ABC.
