BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

More than 50 students from the University of Alabama will spend Labor Day weekend working with LSU students to help Baton Rouge flood victims, according to university officials.

As part of Restore 225, the students will remove furniture, carpeting and sheetrock from flood damaged homes on Sunday and Monday. The LSU Office of Student Life is coordinating the efforts.

The locations where the students will be working were not released to the media.

According to officials with the University of Alabama, students filled the open spots in about 15 minutes and there is a waiting list for other students who want to come to Louisiana to help with flood relief.
