EBRSO reports 'Fill that Truck' drive was successful

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - The East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office reported the "Fill that Truck" flood relief drive was a success.

Vehicle Dynamics Institute out of New Jersey filled a two-story truck with disaster relief supplies for the 175 East Baton Rouge Parish sheriff's deputies displaced by flooding and other residents within the parish.

"A number of the driving instructors for the sheriff's department came up to us for training for a number of years and they're friends, so we decided we'd try to help out and get things together and do what we could," said Larry Side with Vehicle Dynamics Institute. "We were glad we could do something to try and help. We'll try to continue to do more if we can."

Vehicle Dynamics Institute is a school attended by driving instructors within the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office. The truck filled with donations left New Jersey early Monday morning, kept going through the night and arrived in Baton Rouge by Tuesday morning.
