DENHAM SPRINGS, LA (WAFB) - A crowd packed into a town hall meeting in Denham Springs Saturday.
Mayor Gerard Landry told victims 90 percent of homes in the city received water damage. The city is now starting the rebuilding phase of recovery.
Part of that effort included finding a place for City Hall to operate. The mayor says Capital One offered their building on Range Avenue as a temporary location for Denham Springs leaders to use.
"When we came back to work, we had nothing. If you had it in your car or your back pocket, that's what we've been working with for a week or so," said Landry.
The mayor also says the Fire Department was spared, but the Police Department did take on water. That building has since been dried out.
