Police: Rape suspect passes out on victim's porch

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - A man suspected of beating and raping a woman was arrested early Tuesday morning after falling asleep on the victim's porch, according to authorities.

The Baton Rouge Police Department reported Allen Woods, 59, of Baton Rouge, is accused of breaking into the home of a 63-year-old woman.

Investigators said the victim was raped and beaten to the point one of her eyes was almost swollen shut. They added her jaw was also swollen.

According to the probable cause report, the victim said Woods was intoxicated and she convinced him to join her outside to smoke a cigarette.

The report stated the victim later told him she had to get ready for work. It added she walked inside, locked the door and called police.

Police reported finding Woods passed out on the victim's back porch.

Woods was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on charges of home invasion, second-degree rape and simple battery. His bond was set at $420,000.
