BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Many organizations have headed to the Baton Rouge area to help flood victims, but one organization has been here since the very beginning.
Southern Baptist Disaster Relief has been helping get hot meals to flood victims, serving more than 15,000 meals a day.
The group has set up shop at Istrouma Baptist Church, where members started working on Thursday's lunch at 3:30 a.m.
This crew is from Oklahoma. They start the process of serving thousands a day by opening tons and tons of cans. Thursday, it was cans of sweet peas and potatoes.
The American Red Cross supplies trucks full of frozen food and Southern Baptist Disaster Relief cooks the food.
