BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - There could be more updates announced by Louisiana officials, as state leaders will gather at the State Capitol on Thursday to discuss storm recovery.
Lawmakers will speak with the Governor's Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness (GOHSEP), the Louisiana National Guard and FEMA officials.
The status of the Comite River Diversion Project is expected to be one topic of discussion at the meeting. The project aims to cut back on flooding in nearby areas.
Leaders will also acknowledge good Samaritans who saved lives when first responders could not get to them. David Phung and the Cajun Navy will be honored before the meeting begins at 9 a.m.
