BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - As thousands of people across south Louisiana begin the process of repairing their damaged homes, authorities are asking people to be on the lookout for a man accused of failing to complete work after getting paid.
The East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office is trying to find Orlando "Lane" Johnson. He is wanted on two counts of felony theft, one count of misdemeanor theft and a bench warrant for failing to appear on one count of felony issuing worthless checks.
EBRSO said its financial crimes office started investigating Johnson in July after receiving several complaints from people living in Baton Rouge who claimed they hired him to repair their homes, but that the work wasn't finished after they paid him.
Lane was the subject of a special report by the 9News Investigators in 2011 and was arrested on contractor fraud charges days after the story.
