TANGIPAHOA PARISH, LA (WAFB) - Two bridges will be closed until further notice after receiving severe structural damage during the August flood, according to Tangipahoa Parish officials.
Tangipahoa Parish President Robby Miller said the bridges on Stein Road and Walsh Road will be closed effective immediately until repairs are made. Both roads are located off Happywoods Road to the west of Hammond.
Miller said there is no timetable for when the bridges will be reopened. He added that traffic will be detoured around the bridge closures until then.
"Our Public Works Department continues to inspect our local roads and bridges to insure that they are in sound, working order in the aftermath of the floods earlier this month," Miller said.
Miller added that crews are making repairs to other roads and bridges.
