Church seeks drywall sponsors for flooded Louisiana homes

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - A Baton Rouge church is seeking donations for a church project set up to help flood victims obtain drywall to rebuild their homes.

Acacia Church Pastor Russ Cripps said he's already received a donation of 300 sheets of drywall from a New York company and is speaking to other companies about donating more drywall or offering their product at a reduced cost.

People who wish to donate to the project can do so either by a monetary donation or by coordinating with the church to drop off actual drywall product.

Cripps added single mothers and elderly people who did not have flood insurance will be given first priority when the church starts the drywall distribution.

"We realize drywall is going to be in high demand and low supply and we want to try to offer assistance in one specific way that we know will benefit many people," Pastor Cripps said.
