DENHAM SPRINGS, LA (WAFB) - Senior defensive tackle Christian LaCouture figured to be a starter for an LSU team expected to compete for a national title this season. LaCouture was one of 18 returning starters for the Tigers, a squad that checked in at No. 5 in the AP preseason Top 25 poll. But things took a wicked turn during the last two weeks.

LaCouture suffered a torn ACL in his knee, a devastating injury that will cause him to miss the entire 2016 season. If that wasn't enough to deal with, then came the rain. LaCouture's family home near Denham Springs flooded during the recent record setting storm, now needing tons of repair to return it to normal.

But through it all LaCouture and his family remain strong.
