DENHAM SPRINGS, LA (WAFB) - Denham Springs Mayor Gerard Landry released a letter to his residents updating them on the recovery efforts in the city.
In the letter released Saturday, Gerard speaks about the restoration of disturbed cemetery plots, the current boil water advisory and disaster relief.
Gerard says that he has contacted the proper authorities to restore the cemetery but they will have to wait until all of the water is gone.
The boil water advisory that was in effect has since been rescinded after the water was deemed safe to consume again.
There is also a receiving and distribution center located at 541 Florida Boulevard where they will be accepting donation and help from volunteers.
Garbage pickup will resume on Monday with debris removal beginning on Tuesday.
Lastly, Gerard stated that City Hall will be operating out of a vacant bank on Range Avenue that was donated by Capitol One.
