BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

LSU officials announced Saturday that the Football Fan Day and Media Day have been canceled due to the continuous rain and historic flooding across south Louisiana.

Both Fan Day and Media Day was scheduled to be held on campus on Sunday. Officials said that Fan Day will not be rescheduled.

The university will come up with a plan to distribute the placard posters and complimentary Geaux Clear bags. Those items were going to be handed out during the event.

"Safety is our primary concern right now," said LSU Vice-Chancellor and Director of Athletics Joe Alleva. "Unfortunately, with all of the high water, flooding and continued rain, there is no way that we can put people in harm's way so we have no choice but to cancel this event."
