A source close to the situation verifies that LSU senior defensive lineman Christian LaCouture has an ACL tear of his right knee and will have surgery soon.
LaCouture is expected to miss the entire 2016 season. The injury occurred Sunday at practice in what is described to be "a freak accident". LaCouture was given an MRI Monday and then discovered the severity of the injury.
LaCouture will have the decision, down the line, of whether to return for a redshirt senior season or enter the NFL draft.
The senior finished the 2015 season with 35 total tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, one sack and one forced fumble.
