HAMMOND, LA (WAFB) - Head coach John White and the St. Thomas Aquinas Falcons coming off a huge year, soaring out to a 12-0 start before losing to eventual state champion Notre Dame of Crowely 33-0 in the state semifinals.
The Falcons lost 19 starters off of last season's squad that finished 12-1. That includes defensive lineman Edwin Alexander, who is now at LSU, and quarterback Cameron Dantzler, who will play wide receiver at Mississippi State.
"A smaller class, but a class that's ready to take over, make their mark, mark their name, and this group is ready to do that," White said. "If I'm playing football, it's wide open right now. Every position is open. The key is staying healthy because we're going to get better each day. Because we're low in numbers and young in age."
