BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - The search committee charged with finding the new CEO for the Capital Area Transit System (CATS) began interviewing finalists Monday, August 8.
Officials said that four interviews were scheduled for Monday, with three set for Tuesday and three more on Wednesday.
Board members hope to select someone who is already a transit CEO but said good people skills are vital.
CATS Board member Ken Perret said they are looking for "somebody who is concerned about customer service and about getting value to the taxpayers for the money they're spending on a transit system."
The board should know what step comes next in the interview process by Thursday, according to officials.
The current interim CEO William Deville is including in the finalists who will be interviewed. Of the original applicants that were selected, Stephen Banta has been removed from consideration.
The finalists to be interviewed are
- Wilfred L. Beal

- William J. "Bill" Deville
- Albert Eby
- Barbara Hays
- Ivan Maldonado
- James B. Perez
- James E. Price

The candidates' interviews can be viewed at the CATS website after all interviews are done.
