PORT ALLEN, LA (WAFB) - A lawsuit stemming from the deadly explosion that happened at a Geismar chemical plant in 2013 moved a big step closer to trial after the final pre-trial hearing Thursday.
At the hearing held at the district court in Port Allen, the plaintiffs argued against the Williams plant motion to have the case dismissed.
Judge Elizabeth Engolia denied five motions by Williams Olefins and other defendants for the suit to be thrown out. The trial date is set for September 6.
