BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - The Baton Rouge Police Department is looking for two armed robbery suspects that are targeting Circle K convenience stores. According to police and store managers, they are looking for one item in particular.
Keith Williams, 44, is a fan of cigarettes, but he allegedly doesn't like paying for them.
Baton Rouge Police say he is the man behind multiple armed robberies at Circle K convenience stores throughout Baton Rouge.
"As the employee is completing a transaction, usually a handgun is shown or produced, money is demanded, then they run out the store," said Sgt. Don Coppola with BRPD.
Three Circle K stores confirmed that they have been robbed by Williams, but the number of outlets hit could be as high as 10.
The most recent reported robbery happened Sunday morning at the Circle K on the corner of Highland Road and Lee Drive.
A manager of a different Circle K, who did not want to be identified, sent in photos of a man who they believe is Williams taking a large amount of cigarettes from the store.
Both Baton Rouge Police and Circle K Managers say that these robberies have been going on for several weeks.
Investigators believe that Williams is somewhere in the Baton Rouge area, and they are looking for him.
"This is a fluid investigation. Investigators are diligently working every lead that comes in, in attempts to learn of Williams' or this unknown female's whereabouts," Coppola said.
On Tuesday morning, a Circle K store on Government Street was also robbed but by a different man. Police are also looking for him and do not believe he is connected to Williams and the woman.
Circle K managers did not want to speak on camera, and a spokesperson for Circle K did not return 9News' calls.
Anyone with information about the robberies is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 344-7867.
