Two injured after vehicle slams into front of Family Dollar in Baton Rouge

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - At least two people were injured after a vehicle slammed through a Baton Rouge store front.

A grey 2013 Toyota SUV drove through the front of the Family Dollar in the 13000 block of Old Hammond Hwy. Crews from the East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office, Louisiana State Police and the East Side Fire Department arrived on scene around 1:35 p.m. Wednesday.

Officials said that two employees were hit and taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The accident is still under investigation, but officials say it seems like the driver accidentally hit the accelerator and slammed into the store front. They added that the driver was no injured in the accident.
