BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Investigators are searching for the person responsible for a fire that destroyed a vacant house early Monday morning.
The Baton Rouge Fire Department reported it happened on Shelley Street near Lemonwood Drive around 12:30 a.m. Officials are investigating the fire as arson.
Robert Combs with BRFD said even though no one was living in the house, people were seen going inside Sunday evening.
Investigators believe the fire started in a back bedroom.
Combs added most of the roof of the house fell in and about 90 percent of the house burned. It is considered a total loss.
