BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Catholic High H-back Ben Miles, the son of LSU head football coach Les Miles and who helped the Bears to the school's first state title in 121 years, announced via Twitter on Sunday that he's committed to play football for the Nebraska Cornhuskers next year.
Miles, one of the top-rated fullbacks in the nation, picked the Huskers over offers from LSU, Michigan State and Boston College, among others.
"I'm looking forward to competing for Nebraska, but first I'm looking forward to competing for Catholic High," he said after making the announcement and thanking his family, coaches and teammates in his tweet.
The 6'1", 210-pound Miles attended Nebraska's spring game in April. Coach Mike Riley has said the fullback would have a more extensive role as his offense evolves.
Manny Miles, Les Miles' other son, who won a state championship with U-High, is a redshirt freshman quarterback at North Carolina.
