GONZALES, LA (WAFB) - Support for law enforcement came in the form of a sweet treat Saturday.
A handful of kids set up a lemonade stand to give back. The group says they set up shop at Cabela's in Gonzales after learning about the caravan of Jeeps that rolled through the LSU campus to show their support as well.
The kids held a similar lemonade stand last weekend, raising more than $2,000.
"I think they're really seeing that yes, something bad happened, but there's so many good people in this community. Giving back and they're a little bit a part of that and they're getting to give back too. So I think it's probably making them have a better picture of our world after a bad thing that had happened to them," said Dana Gomez, a parent.
Parents say all of the supplies for the lemonade stand were donated and they do plan to give the funds raised to law enforcement.
