Police arrest Memphis man accused of holding woman against her will to prostitute

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

A Tennessee man accused of holding her against her will for prostitution purposes was arrested in Baton Rouge on Thursday, according to authorities.

The Baton Rouge Police Department reported Sherrod Haley, 27, of Memphis, TN, was arrested while he was at the Magnusson Hotel on Gwenadelle Drive.

While there, officers said they found a woman reportedly being held against her will.

Court documents state the woman told investigators Haley had her prostituting in different hotels in Louisiana and Tennessee.

Haley told police he was unaware of the allegations and was only helping the woman.

He was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on a charge of human trafficking. Bond has not been set.
