Free trauma counseling sessions available in Baton Rouge

Healthline: Counselors offer free sessions to help cope with tragedy

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Capital Area Human Services District (CAHSD) added seven new group counseling sessions to help the Baton Rouge community deal with the trauma of the recent weeks. One-on-one counseling is available immediately following each group session.

Six meetings are free and open to the public, and one is designated for professionals only. All the sessions will be held at CAHSD at 4615 Government Street, Building 2, Room 200.

OPEN TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC
NOON AND 6 P.M. EACH OF THE FOLLOWING TUESDAYS

  • Tuesday, August 2: Internal reactions to the Baton Rouge tragedies
  • Tuesday, August 9: Emotional impact of the recent events in Baton Rouge

These sessions will be led by John Nosacka, MSHCM, LCSW, and Stephen Aguilliard, LCSW.
