LSU kicker released from hospital after being injured in deadly Wisconsin crash

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - LSU kicker Colby Delahoussaye is out of the hospital and will return to Louisiana after being injured in a deadly car crash on Saturday, July 23.

Delahoussaye suffered minor injuries in a car crash that claimed the lives of Nebraska punter Sam Foltz and Michigan State punter Mike Sadler Saturday night in Wisconsin, according to LSU officials.

Luckily for Delahoussaye, he was sitting in the back seat of the Mercedes sedan that the players were in when the vehicle ran of the road, hit a tree and caught fire.

Delahoussaye was released from the hospital Monday after being treated for burns and cut on his head.

LSU head coach Les Miles released a written statement Sunday afternoon, sending his thoughts and prayers to the families of Foltz and Sadler.

"This isn't supposed to happen to young people who have so much to live for," he said.

Miles also said everyone is thankful Colby will be able to return to his family and friends.
