ST. MARTIN PARISH, LA (WAFB) - Deputies recovered roughly $30,000 worth of drugs, many guns and military body armor from a home in Cecilia, officials say.
According to the St. Martin Parish Sheriff's Office, a search warrant was executed at the home of Colby Calais, 45, on Wednesday, July 20.
During the search, narcotics agents recovered methamphetamine, amphetamine, marijuana, anti-depressants and pain pills, several firearms including handguns and an assault rifle, as well as a significant amount of cash.
Officials say they also recovered three advanced military body armor vests with several sets of ballistic plates. They suspect them to be stolen.
Calais was arrested and charge with six counts of possession with the intent to distribute, illegal carrying of weapons in the presence of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, illegal use of body armor, possession of drug paraphernalia, and illegal use of controlled dangerous substances in the presence of persons under 17-years-old.
Calais was booked into the St. Martin Parish Correctional Center.
