BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Woman's Hospital in Baton Rouge has continued a 45-year tradition of providing women with the support and state-of-the art medical services they deserve. For that, they have been recognized by Interactive Health as one of the 154 healthiest companies in America.
Interactive Health is a provider of workplace wellness programs, and more than 70 percent of Woman's employees enrolled in Woman's health plan participate in that program. As part of the program, based on lab work results, participants are given a low-risk health score based on health evaluations to identify modifiable risk factors such as smoking, glucose, blood pressure, triglycerides, and LDL cholesterol, which are all potential causes of serious health conditions.
When an employee in the program has been identified as being at-risk, Interactive Health creates a personalized action plan that includes coaching with health professionals and personal physicians. The employee is then assigned an achievable goal based on his or her individual results, and health improvements are subsequently measured. Of those Woman's employees who were determined to be at-risk based on their previous health evaluation, 95 percent improved blood pressure, 77 percent improved LDL cholesterol, 67 percent improved triglycerides, 64 percent improved glucose level, and 30 percent improved smoking.
"Woman's is committed to improving the health of our community, including our employees. Achieving recognition as one of the Healthiest Companies in America demonstrates how employee health is a vital part of our organizational culture," said Woman's vice president of employee services, Donna Bodin.
