VIDEO: Law enforcement officers answer questions at BRPD headquarters

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

BRPD Chief Dabadie, Col. Edmonson with Louisiana State Police, and Sheriff Sid Gautreaux answered questions in regards to Sunday morning's shooting.

Three law enforcement officers were killed, three were injured and a suspect is dead following a Sunday morning shootout with police. It is unknown at this time whether additional suspects were connected to this shooting.

The shooter has been identified as Gavin Eugene Long of Kansas City, Missouri

Five of the officers were transported to Our Lady of the Lake Hospital. Three of those have died. Officer Matthew Gerald, 41, and Montrell Jackson, 32, were from the Baton Rouge Police Department. Deputy Brad Garafola, 45, was with the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office. Garafola, 45, died as a result of his injuries. He has been with the Sheriff's Office for 24 years and was currently working in Civil Processing-Foreclosures. 

In the latest update from EBRSO, the two remaining officers at OLOL hospital are being treated.

Nicholas Tullier, 41, is currently in critical condition. He works in the Uniform Patrol Traffic division and has 18 years of service with the office. 

Bruce Simmons, 57, is also in Uniform Patrol traffic with 23 years of service. Simmons has non-life threatening injuries.

    For a few hours Wednesday, many law enforcement officers were out trying to build a better connection with the community, hopefully making it easier to call in those tips.
