NOLA author brings a galaxy from far, far away to the capital city

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - In the not too distant future, at a library right here in Baton Rouge, one author will discuss her latest novel, which follows a young rebel as she ventures through a galaxy far, far away.

On Monday, July 18, Claudia Gray will bring her galaxy full of paranormal romance to the main branch of the Baton Rouge Library on Goodwood.

Gray's latest young adult novel, Star Wars: Bloodline is set over 20 years after the events of Return of the Jedi and several years before The Force Awakens. The young-adult novel follows Leia Organa as she faces a Galactic Sentence on the verge of trouble.

According to, Gray's latest novel comes with a creative seal of approval from Rian Johnson, the writer and director of Star Wars: Episode VIII.

"Gray paints a much more complete galaxy than we often get to see on the big screen…Star Wars: Bloodline isn't just a great Star Wars book, or a great Leia book, or a great book; it's a great introduction into the larger world of Star Wars in general," said the website.

The free book discussion will begin at 2:30 p.m., and will be followed by a meet-and-greet, as well as a question and answer opportunity with Gray. Copies of the book will be available for purchase and signing.

Some of Gray's other works include the young adult fantasy novels, EverynightSpellcaster, and Firebird.
