BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - A week-long symposium about Black Lives Matter started Monday in Baton Rouge.
The event, which hopes to make lives better in the community, is being held at the New Sunlight Baptist Church on America Street.
The topic Monday was crime prevention and black on black crime with Sgt. Riley Harbor with the Baton Rouge Police Department.
On Tuesday, a nice crowd of mostly young people filled the church to hear from a panel on education and making good choices in life.
The symposiums were previously scheduled and held annually by they church to try to improve the community. The event continues all week long with a different topic every night.
