BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

Fire investigators are searching for at least two arsonists after two vacant houses were set on fire Thursday morning.

The Baton Rouge Fire Department reported the most recent fire happened on Eddie Robinson Sr. Drive near South 13th Street around 5:45 a.m.

According to Curt Monte with BRFD, firemen were able to keep the flames from spreading to other houses, but the one that was set on fire is considered a total loss.

Officials said the first fire happened on East Grant Street near Thomas H. Delpit Drive just before 5:30 a.m.

Monte said the back of the home was engulfed in flames when firefighters made it to the scene. He added they were able to put out the fire before it spread to any other houses.

Monte also stated there has been no evidence uncovered so far to make investigators believe the fires are related.

Anyone with information on either fire is urged to call fire investigators at 354-1419.
