BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Police have made an arrest in connection with a shooting at a hotel that sent one person to the hospital.

The Baton Rouge Police Department reported Samuel Wright, 34, of Denham Springs, was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on a charge of principal to attempted second-degree murder. His bond is set at $50,000.

According to the probable cause report, Wright is accused of urging the shooter to fire at the victim and helping the shooter get away from the hotel.

The report stated the victim was shot multiple times in the chest inside a hotel room. Police said the victim ran to the lobby for help and was later taken to the hospital with serious injuries, but they were not considered life-threatening.

Police have not yet identified the person suspected of shooting the victim.

Wright was arrested in July 2015 on heroin, meth and other drug charges.
