BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - The 8th installment of Restaurant Week Baton Rouge is underway, taking place from July 11 through July 16. The week will showcase more than 50 local restaurants.
Diners will be able to enjoy three course meals at fixed prices at some of Baton Rouge's best restaurants. DIG Magazine is providing a one-stop website for all things Restaurant Week at www.EatBR.com.
There are also chances for diners to win prizes, including passes to Voodoo Music and Arts Experience and an Abita Brewing Company gift basket.
A donation of $5,000 will be made to the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank thanks to sponsors, diners, and participating restaurants. This money will pay for about 50,000 meals for those in need.
"The Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank is excited for another installment of Restaurant Week. We are grateful that those who place such fine cuisine on restaurant tables in the Baton Rouge area are joining us to help put food on the table of so many in need. Restaurant Week gives the community a chance to support and experience local restaurants while also supporting the Food Bank and the hungry in the 11 parishes we serve. Funds from Restaurant Week help provide many meals to those most in need in our community, during the challenging summer months when there is a shortage of funds and food on the shelves," says Michael G. Manning, president and CEO of the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank.
