BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

Louisiana Inspector General Stephen Street Jr. announced Wednesday morning that film company, Horizon Entertainment, is accused of costing the state more than $1 million in fraudulent tax credits.

The Louisiana Office of Inspector General (OIG) reported its investigation revealed the company received at least $1,038,943 in tax credits that should not have been issued.

Officials noted their investigation began after a series of investigative reports by WAFB sister station WVUE suggesting the film company had submitted false expenses to the state.

Horizon denies any wrongdoing.
