BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Families may be in the heart of summer vacation, but East Baton Rouge leaders are wasting no time in getting kids ready to go back to school.
Mayor Kip Holden and other city-parish leaders will kick off the second annual EduFest in Baton Rouge.
The fest is an extension of the national "My Brother's Keeper Initiative" and hopes to help kids prepare mentally and physically for a new school year.
The EduFest is free to the public and kicks off at 1:30 p.m. at the Family and Youth Service Center on Government Street. It lasts until 4:30 p.m.
