BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Pei Wei Asian Diner quietly shut off the lights for its Baton Rouge location, but reports say the company is shuttering all three of its Louisiana restaurants.
"The Scottsdale, Arizona-based chain has locations in New Orleans, Metairie and in Baton Rouge," reports Alexandria Burris in an article for The Business Report. "The Capital City's Acadian Village Shopping Center location on Perkins Road and the New Orleans location on North Carrollton Avenue both closed on Sunday. In an email sent late Monday, Pei Wei spokesman John Glynn says the Metairie location will be closed by the end of this week."
She includes that Glynn did not provide a reason for the closure.
No notice was given and patrons seem surprised by the closure. A sign was posted to the door over the weekend and as of Tuesday, all signage has been removed from the property.
According to reports, employees were given the option to interview for positions at the P.F. Chang's China Bistros in the area.
The Baton Rouge location of Pei Wei opened in early 2014.
