THIBODAUX, LA (WAFB) -

Thibodaux Police arrested a teen who allegedly knocked one person unconscious and then pushed a police officer into oncoming traffic.

Chase Hutchinson, 18, of Houma Louisiana was arrested in the early hours of Friday morning after allegedly slamming another individual into the ground and knocking them unconscious before fleeing.

Police say they caught up with Hutchinson and attempted to arrest him and walk him to the police car.  According to reports, once Hutchinson was up against the car he pushed his body back off the car and sent an officer into traffic.

The report goes on to say Hutchinson continued to put up a fight as multiple officers attempted to regain control of the situation. Police say at one point Hutchinson grabbed an officer’s fingers and twisted them.

Once inside the patrol car, officials say Hutchinson began repeatedly hitting is head against the cage.

Hutcherson posted bail, and was released from Lafourche Parish Detention Center later Friday afternoon.

The victim who was knocked unconscious regained consciousness and refused medical treatment.

Hutcherson is charged with second degree battery, battery of an officer and resisting an officer.
