BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - As many people finalize their itineraries for Fourth of July getaways, there is something they need to know if they plan to hit beaches up along the Gulf Coast.
Swimming advisories are in place at several popular spots in Louisiana, Florida, Mississippi and Texas.
Health officials in those states are advising that beach-goers do not get into the water due to high levels of harmful bacteria.
