BAYOU L'OURSE, LA (WAFB) - Investigators said a man was arrested after a child told someone he had molested her.
The Assumption Parish Sheriff's Office reported Tommy Lishman, 47, of Bayou L'Ourse was charged Tuesday.
Sheriff Leland Falcon said his deputies were contacted Sunday about a potential child molestation case.
He added a "Good Samaritan" reported the child had disclosed what happened and that the 6-year-old claimed Lishman was the person who molested her.
According to reports, the investigation showed Lishman allegedly touched the child inappropriately more than once.
Detectives said Lishman admitted during questioning that the child's claims were true.
Lishman was booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on a charge of molestation of a juvenile. Bond has not been set.
