Crime Stoppers: Police search for attempted murder suspect

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Police are trying to find a man accused of shooting at someone after a car crash.

Greater Baton Rouge Crime Stoppers reported the Baton Rouge Police Department is searching for Brian Hines Jr., 24, who should be considered armed and dangerous.

He is 5'10" tall and weighs 200 pounds.

Authorities said Hines and another suspect rear-ended a vehicle on Winchester Avenue on Saturday. They added the victim and the person in the car with Hines got into an argument when the victim went to his vehicle to call police.

According to reports, as the victim was reaching for his phone Hines got out of the other vehicle, walked up to the victim's car and shot him through the window. Police said as the victim tried to run away Hines allegedly shot at him again.

Hines is wanted on charges of attempted second-degree murder, illegal use of weapons or dangerous instruments, aggravated criminal damage to property and carrying of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Police added the other suspect in the car was arrested. The suspect's name was not given.
